Westerra Credit Union is a member-owned cooperative with a deep local heritage. Westerra focuses on the individual, working with members to help them achieve financial success. The Westerra website did not effectively capture this member-first positioning, and was failing to engage a large portion of its target audience – first-time account holders.
We partnered with 303 Software to redesign the complete online experience, including, brand-forward UI design, information architecture and responsive design.
The site was designed on the ExpressionEngine CMS, a robust, fully customizable Content Management System. Responsive designed ensured a mobile friendly experience which was particularly important as the new site needed to resonate with the younger audience of first-time account holders as well as long-standing members. We presented a design which connects to the Westerra community while also retaining important brand equity.
The new site presented beautifully on desktop and mobile alike, which appealed to a newer generation of millennial account holders. We adjusted site architecture to make content more digestible, allowing users to view an escalating amount of detail as they navigated deeper into the site. We utilized imagery featuring lifestyle and the outdoors to resonate with a Colorado audience.
The refreshed Westerra website offered intuitive navigation to users with a variety of needs while capturing the positioning of Westerra as a local organization focused on member success.
