Founded in 2006, JCR Capital is an alternative investment manager that provides capital solutions to middle market commercial real estate sponsors.
JCR came to D+i with an outdated site that failed to provide their primary audience with key information. The JCR website was in need of a refreshed feel while at the same time not straying too far from the traditional aspects of the firm. We designed and developed a new site with simple, clean design to showcase JCR’s many projects, investments and insights.
We collaborated with JCR stakeholders to determine specific focus areas for the new site. Through an immersive Discovery process, we determined there were two primary aspects that needed to be highlighted on a new site: a Transactions section to recap each real estate project, and a Market Commentary section with quarterly posts predicting and summarizing market trends.
For the Transactions page, our team ensured each real estate investment was shown in a manner that made the important details clear and easily understandable. Because new transactions needed to be added to the site on a frequent basis, we built out the backend to allow for simple creation and alteration by JCR staff. Each transaction post featured bold typography and clean design, allowing the details to be understood at a glance. We also added icons to represent each different real estate transaction type.
For the Market Commentary page, we needed to create a view which allowed users to navigate through various commentary based on dates and noted industry trends. We utilized a timeline view to display quarterly market posts in a chronological fashion. This allowed for users to see JCR insights made for each year without clicking into individual posts. Each commentary featured an expanded option which would allow users to read the full in-depth post. A timeline filled with key excerpts from the posts guides the user through the fundamentals of the page with clarity and ease.
The refreshed JCR Capital site offers seamless navigation with a clean, responsive design which allows users to easily navigate to the information they need.
